Prince Georges' County Government - Energy Performance Contract Project – Phase I

Prince Georges' County Government initiated a $10.7 million project which has upgraded its infrastructure and reduced energy costs. The County's energy efficiency project utilized two energy service companies (ESCOs) – Johnson Controls and PEPCO to retrofit 10 government buildings with Energy Management Systems and a variety of efficient HVAC, lighting, water management equipment. P.G. County engaged Grant Capital to provide project oversight for the initiative. After selecting the aforementioned ESCOs, the County asked us to review the investment grade audit (IGA) before beginning the construction phase of the project. Acting as "Owner Representative", we refined the scope of work by offering project recommendations that saved Prince Georges' County Government $1.2 million dollars versus the proposed project cost. We then proceeded to provide project management oversight for the installation/construction and savings monitoring and verification (M&V) phases of the project.

Prince Georges' County Government has chosen Grant Capital to provide project consultation services to evaluate ESCO RFP responses for Phase II of the County's energy efficiency initiative.
