Richmond Public Schools - Energy Performance Contract Project

Richmond Public Schools (RPS), a school district serving over 23,000 students, initiated a $6.1 million project which has upgraded its infrastructure and reduced energy costs. The RPS energy efficiency project utilized two energy service companies (ESCOs) – Johnson Controls and AMERESCO to retrofit 10 school district buildings with Energy Management Systems and a variety of efficient HVAC, lighting, water management equipment. Richmond Public Schools engaged Grant Capital to provide project oversight for the initiative. After selecting the aforementioned ESCOs, RPS asked us to review the investment grade audit (IGA) before beginning the construction phase of the project. Acting as "Owner Representative", we offered the District project recommendations. We then proceeded to provide project management oversight for the installation/construction and savings monitoring and verification (M&V) phases of the project.
