Prince Georges’ County Government Energy Performance Contract Project

Prince Georges' County Government initiated a $10.7 million project which has upgraded its infrastructure and reduced energy costs.

The County's energy efficiency project utilized two energy service companies (ESCOs) – Johnson Controls and PEPCO to retrofit 10 government buildings with Energy Management Systems and a variety of efficient HVAC, lighting, and water management equipment. P.G. County engaged Grant Capital to provide project oversight for the initiative.

After selecting the ESCOs, the County asked us to review the investment grade audit (IGA) before beginning the construction phase of the project. We refined the scope of work by offering project recommendations that saved Prince Georges' County Government $1.2 million dollars.

“As a Prince George’s County native, it always excites me to partner with Prince George’s County. In addition to financing the County’s energy project, we have financed the Revenue Authority and over $300 million in capital need for Prince George’s County Board of Education. Utilizing the company’s resources and talent to benefit my hometown is especially gratifying.”
